Is there a way, and if, how, to get permission from the judge to leave the country for a limited time being under informal probation?

Unless the judge specifically ordered you NOT to leave the country, you're free to leave the country any time if you're on informal (or summary) probation. If you were ordered not to leave the country, then you need to contact the court clerk, ask to have the matter put on calendar, and go in and explain to the judge what you want to do and why. If you have a good reason, you should be OK.

You might also read the conditions of probation that you received from the bailiff. I'm not aware that there's ever conditions that stop you from leaving the country when on informal probation.
