If a person is intoxicated (very drunk 3 times the legal limit) and commits a crimes does that help their defense or hurt it?

voluntarily intoxication is not a defense so it may neither help or hurt a defense ... may depend on type of crime alleged though. Good luck!

In California it should be irrelevant. It might be helpful in some other states, where the laws are different.
