Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

petty theft

I was arrested for petty theft and was bailed out.No charges was filled on my court day.During this time i was preparing for my board exam as a license nurse.After taking the exam,i recieved a letter from the broad of nursing stating that,my record shows that i was arrested for 2nd degree rubbery and pendingand my result can not be released until i bring a letter from the court.I am very fustrated right now and not know what to do.Please help.I am not that kind of a person.

See if you can get a letter from the DA that there will be no charges. If not, you might want to hire a lawyer to pursue this matter.

Your immediate problem is not being convicted of robbery, a felony which is punishable with state prison time in addition to the economic penalty of not being able to work. Get a good lawyer. If there are really no charges pending, ask the clerk of the court, or the public defender, for a letter.

Cannot tell how long ago this arrest was. It may be that the DA is reviewing the case and charges may be filed in the future. The nursing board is tough to convince that a mere arrest means nothing. Sophisticated Counsel is needed ASAP
