Petty theft as a minor
okay i was charged with petty theft at 17yrs my court date is next month im going to be 18.I wanted to know 1) how much will they charge me for everything if convicted the amount came up to(140) 2) is this completely permanent and i can't do nothing about it.3)My friend was invloed and threaten me to do it so will that help me? 4) how much is considered in ca petty theft?

IF you were 17 when the crime occurred you go through juvi court...even if you now turn 18...get counsel and see about any diversionary or informal dispositions that may be available in your juvi court...varies by county what's available.

If you get convicted of theft, you won't work again. If you did the crime under duress and threats, you may have a defense to your case. Have your parents get you a good lawyer.
