Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Plaintiff & Defendant Reastablished as friends. Can DA still Pursue?

She payed me $2500 to act as a buyers agent for her. I referred her to excellant sources which she was unable to qualify with do to her poor credit. While seeking out a hard money lender about a month had past and she began to grow suspicious because it was taking so long. She inquired with the D.R.E and it was noted I was not licensed. She contacted fraud investigator's and I was met by them at her place at the next visit to her home. I did not want to reveal to the authorities that I was working with licensed practioners so I took the blame and told them I acted alone, provided all the paperwork and contact information. After questioning me at the station I was allowed to leave. A month later charges of 487A F1 1203e4 was filed. I have felony priors from when I was a teenager for auto theft. Plaintiff has defrauded in excess of 15 people over last 2 years and was a target of a Channel 4 investigation. I was unaware of this until recently. Two years have passed and since, plaintiff and I have been reconciled yet it is not certain how to resolve matter with the DA. The money which I was payed by her has long been returned as well.

Re: Plaintiff & Defendant Reastablished as friends. Can DA still Pursue?

Regardless of the fact that the plaintiff and you have reconciled the DA can pursue the case. It is not (your friend) v. (you), it is the people of the county of (?) v. you. Under the criminal law the district attorney has the right to bring charges against an individual if he feels the law has been broken regardless of whether the defendant has has made up with the injured person.
