Yes, unless he invokes his rights to a lawyer and to remain silent. This problem was illustrated in the Stephanie Crowe murder case in San Diego, in which police interrogated her brother, Michael Crowe and coerced a weak confession that he murdered his sister, when DNA evidence exonerated him.
