Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

police interview

I have been asked to come in for a

police interview for a case in which I

am the suspect. I have a letter

saying that failure to do so will result

in the case being turned over to the

DA and a warrant being issued for my

'' immediate arrest'' What should I

do? I have already given a

statement to the police nearly a year

ago when this happened.

Re: police interview

You should hire an attorney immediately. It is not good to speak to the police by yourself.

Re: police interview

You used very poor judgment in giving a statement to the police a year ago. Do not visit the police station voluntarily, wait for them to arrest you. Do not say ANYTHING AT ALL to the police except that you have nothing to say and you want a lawyer. Contact the lawyer you consulted last year, and make arrangements to retain him or her in the event you are arrested. If you did not consult a lawyer last year, there's no time like the present. Also contact a bail bond agency.
