Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

posession and urinating

I recieved a ticket in Long Beach, likely over a year ago now, for urinating in public and posession of marijuana. Unfortunately I've allowed this to go to warrent by failure to appear (FTA) and failure to pay (FTP.) I want to handle this but I really don't know what to do. I have no money for an attorney, and want to resolve this by trying not to have to serve jail time. What should be my recourse?

Re: posession and urinating

If you have no money for a private attorney you should contact the Public Defender's office in Long Beach. Because of Failure to Appear you will need to make a personal appearance in order to recall the bench warrant. One thing is certain - the longer you wait the worse your situation will be. What penalty a judge might impose will be directly proportional to how long you wait to resolve this matter.
