Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Can possesion charges be filed at a later date if I was not arrested at the scen
I was caught with possesion of controlled substance. The police took down information and all that but he let me go. Of course, he gave me his phone # and wants me to call him with information(obviously to give someone else up). My question is this, If I don't. can he file the charges on me later? Or should he (by law) have done that when this all took place?

The officer can work you as a snitch for a considerable period of time, and then come and arrest you. My opinion is that you have 100% chance of being arrested by the officer that is working you. If you help him or not. It will not make a difference.
