Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Possession of Marijuana

I recently got my second possession of marijuana, less than one ounce ticket a couple of weeks ago. For the first ticket its being cleared from my record if I do 24 hours of community service, so I got lucky. But when I was at the courthouse for my first ticket (in Long Beach) I think the commissioner saying that all drug related charges that go on record would result in suspension of drivers license for 1 year for anyone under 21, I am currently 18. I was wondering if my license is going to be suspended and whether or not I should hire an attorney or just wait for my court date? Thanks.

Re: Possession of Marijuana

Hire a lawyer to make sure there is no conviction and risk to your license. You do not want any drug related convictions on your record, period. A good and persistent lawyer should always be able to dismiss an under an ounce of marijuana violation. You might or might not get lucky doing it yourself again.

You might want to consider hiring a lawyer who has a great deal of experience in marijuana and medical marijuana cases. I am inviting you to check out the marijuana section of my website at http://lentzlawfirm.com/medical-marijuana-practiceareas-34
