Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Posting personal information online
Could I still press charges against someone who posted all my personal information on the internet last year?
My ex's ex girlfriend somehow obtained my personal information such as social security number, telephone number, birthdate, address, etc. on a free website without my consent. She eventually took the website down, but I have emails and blogs of her writing about the website and stating she posted my information. I didn't know I could do something about it until now. What are my options for this and will I have to spend money for an attorney and what kind of court time am I looking at?

By "press charges" implies criminal charges which would be up to the D.A.'s office. I do not believe the D.A.'s office would prosecute this case. You have several civil causes of action however. Contact me directly.
