Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

pri. suspect of search warrant arrested at grocery store, charged with pos4sales

CI made a buy, supposedly that led police to raid our house... 12 adults arrested, S-1 arrested at store and charged with 11378HS and 11370.1(a) but had nothing illegal in his posession. Police report, from a quick glance, is full of doo-doo but I can't get anyone to give it to me. Ct Appt'd Atty is on the DA's side and I can't afford a private atty. Bail is excessive at 85,000. Lawyers all want $5000 up front even though the chrges are bull$h!p. My fiance is sitting in jail unable to generate income, I'm almost 8 mo pregnant, I want to do everything i can to investigate his case further but have no clue what I am capable of doing since i'm not an attorney nor the defendant. Question I'd say would be, What exactly can i do? Info. on case & evidence & who & what would I ask for? How could i convince an atty to represent in court while I do all the footwork he/she needs me to, to lessen fees. Prelim is in 10 cal days, are my ideas even possible?

Thanks for your inquiry. Doing as much as you can yourself will lessen the fees, but with a court-appointed attorney, they should have the ability to investigate at the expense of the county or state.

I hope this helps, and my office charges much less than $5,000 up front, if you need assistance, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected].
