Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
probation violation
my PD told me they will drop charges on a second degree burglary if I plead guilty to violation of probation. If I'm not charged with a crime how can i be in violation of probation?

Re: probation violation
Committing a crime is a violation regardless of whether you are charged with it. Further, the terms of your probation probably forbid a variety of actions that are not crimes in their own right.
