Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Probation violation/Forgery/Embezzlement

I am on mail-in probation for a grand theft charge, that in the beginning included forgery and embezzlement then reduced to grand theft and a misdemeanor. Now I am facing charges of forgery and grand theft of $14,000 along with probation violation(involved in illegal activities). What is the possible punishment if I am working and able to pay restitution. No jail time for previous offense.

Re: Probation violation/Forgery/Embezzlement

The punishment depends upon the Penal Code section(s) they are alleging you violated. Generally, a person will serve time on forgery, grand theft and a probation violation. Restitution will also be part of the sentence. Depending upon the progression of the case, a good attorney may be able to negotiate with whom the embezzlement occurred before taking the case to the District Attorney. Every case is unique and we would need much more information from you to respond to your inquiry. For further assistance, please call (800) 382-3100.
