Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Probation and Wreckless driving

I was recently the accused of wreckiless driving. Wrongly accused but i am unable to fight it. I have to attend court tomorrow morning to see a judge about the charge. The fact of the matter is i am on probation for another charge that is currently being resolved through community service, and i was wondering what the consequences could be for being con victed of the wreckless driving charge.

Re: Probation and Wreckless driving

I am not sure I agree with you that you are unable to fight the charge. That's why there are lawyers and you are entitled to one at public expense, assuming you are being charged with at least a misdemeanor. A lawyer should evaluate your case to find solutions and defenses you might not be aware of. The fact that you are on probation makes it even more important for you to get a lawyer. Probation violation situations can be tricky and often call for creative or unorthodox solutions. For example, the way to go might be to package both cases together in the same courthouse for some quick package resolution and quick reinstatement of your probation on the same terms and conditions. Sometimes, it might be advisable to resolve your pending case quickly and let the probation violation slip under the radar so to speak, if that is possible. It would be most unwise not to get a lawyer involved.
