Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Can you please tell me what the procedure is to have criminal records expunged? I have 12 misdemeanors on my record and it it preventing me from getting a decent job. I live in San Mateo County
If this involves getting a lawyer, are there any agencies that will help me at no cost? I was told by my counselor at the Department of Rehabilitation that I have to pay 50.00 and request the formal rap sheet. Thats just the beginning. Could you please clarify the procedure so I know what Im doing and how long this is going to take? Thank you

The probation office should have a form that you fill out and submitted along with the required fee. Be sure that list each of the misdemeanors with their case number. It takes about 90 days to be completed.
