The Process
What comes next? We had the preliminary hearing and have a new court date for thursday. What is going to happen at this court date? This is a felony charge.

The next step in the process is an arraignment. It is almost the same as the first arraignment at the first court appearance. There are some highly techinical legal differences, bottom line is that it is a plea of guilty or not guilty now that the court has found enough evidence to hold one to answer for the charges. Pleading not guilty at this arraignment will usually cause the court to set a pre-trial hearing approximately 30 days later. Should the pre-trial hearing not resolve the case, the court will most likely set a trial date approximately 30 days later.
