Re: prostitution

Your friend should contact the Public Defender's office as soon as possible, to see if she qualifies for free representation by them. Otherwise, she should hire a private attorney.

When your friend appears in Court for her arraignment, she will be able to get the complaint and see the crimes she is charged with. It will likely be a misdemeanor solicitation charge. Her lawyer will be able to tell her whether she has defenses or should accept a plea bargain. If accepting a plea bargain, it's best to negotiate it to something that is not related to prostitution or sex offenses.
