Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Question on how to appeal a case of an inmate in a calif. state prison.
My fiance is in a california prison, he was misrepresented and when sentenced his lawyer did not appeal his case. We appealed some time last year it was denied. What can we do to reappeal or is there a limit time to appeal a case? He was arrested in 11/1999 we appealed last yr. We got notified that the appeal was denied about 3 or 4 months ago.

Since the fiance is in prison, a petition for a writ of habeas corpus based on ineffective assistance of counsel or some other grounds might still be possible. You should have the entire case reviewed by an appellate lawyer to really know your options.
