Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Hello, my question involves with MIP in the state of California and the city of Irvine.
Basic stories goes: I was the driver for my two girlfriends, and we are all between the ages of 18-19. This wasn't my car, it was my one of my passenger. We had in the car 3 bottles of Four Loko, and one of the bottle was opened. After while, an uncover cops came by and give us all citation for MIP of alcohol. I was breathalyzer for suspension for DUI, but i didn't drink and the meter shows 0.0.
Now, would i get my license suspended if this is my first offense? Should i get a public defender to help get my case dismissed? How and when should i get a public defender? And Finally, would MIP criminal record increases your insurance? Thank you.

There are open container laws that apply to MIP. A public defender is great. There are pros and cons with private attorneys as well.
