Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Question about a police incident last week.

My boyfriend called the police said, I took a bat to his car and was vandalized by me. I left the house and now the police say I have to call them to make a statement or the will place an arrest warrant .

Is this true? Do I have to make a statement or can I remain silent ?

You should contact a criminal attorney to fully discuss this matter before talking to the police. If you do not contact the police they may have a warrant for your arrest issued. If you contact the police and make a statement they may arrest you after your statement is complete. All statements made by you will either be recorded or the police will view your statements as pointing to your guilt.
