Re: Questioning
Ms. Healy is absolutely correct. You should politely but firmly refuse to talk to the police. If you are arrested, immediately invoke your right to remain silent and to have access to an attorney.
The police are good at making people want to talk. I have a two clients right now who would not be needing my services if they had kept silent. Learn from their mistake!
Re: Questioning
Never, ever go in to talk to the police without an attorney present. In fact, I don't usually let my clients talk to the police at all. My position is: If you have a case, file it. Otherwise, go pound sand.
The police want to talk to you in order to obtain more information to use against you. The D.A. probably said the police didn't have enough evidence and sent them back to do more investigating. I wouldn't talk to them. There's always time for talk later.
