Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
rape case...
my friend was accused of rape in may of 07 he was arrested an put in jail yes he was on parole, they then contacted his parole ageent an put him on a parole hold. he was given 11 months. my question is how mush time do they have to charge him with this rape?

If he has not been charged yet, the District Attorney has 3 years to file felony charges. The statute of limitations on a misdemeanor is 1 year and 3 years for a felony.
