Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I received a ticket for possesion of marijuana. At the time, I really thought I could pay this online or via phone payment service. When I attempted to pay the ticket I found that I was dealing with a misdemeanor ticket, not a regular ticket as I had thought. I missed the court date set for my appearance to pay the ticket, as I could not get out of work ( my employer is terminally ill and I am her sole employee that opens and runs the small business store). I have since learned that a warrant has been issued because I did not appear at court. I need to know how to proceed with this situation.

You're going to have to go to court (or hire an attorney to represent you and have them appear on your behalf).

Because of the failure to appear, there is a warrant for your arrest and it can only be cleared once you get arrested or if the judge recalls it.

Your best bargaining position is always from anywhere but in the holding cell if you get picked up on the warrant. Be proactive and get this taken care of.
