Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I received a 23224 (a)vc Minor Transportation Alcohol for driving with my underage friend and alcohol in the car. The undercover cops watched us got to the liquor store, buy the alcohol, then pulled us over 2 miles down the road. My friend used his brother's id card to buy the alcohol. He was given an MIP, a minor in possession of a fake id, and minor trying to buy alcohol. We were very cooperative and told the police the whole truth. I am wondering what I can do to help my situation, my friend is very wealthy and his dad has very good attorneys. I on the other hand don't have the means. Thank you for any help. I appreciate it greatly.

You were very cooperative and told the police the whole truth? Never make that mistake again. You will get the public defender, and you will get to experience firsthand the difference between having very good attorneys and not having very good attorneys.
If you are under the age of 21 and are covicted of a violation of Vehicle Code section 23224, you are subject to having your driving privilege suspended for one year. If you do not yet have the privilege to drive (notice I did not say right) the court orders the DMV to delay issuing a license for a year after the time you become eligible to drive. If you don't have any further convictions involivng alcohol, for a year, you can petition the court to modify the order. This response does not cover any other charges that you did not tell us about, or that the prosecutor decides to charge you with by the time of arraignment. If you do not have the funds, you are going to have to have the public defender appointed to defend you, assuming that you qualify.
