Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Hi i just recently got caught using a fake id at a casino located in san jose california. The ticket was marked as a misdemeanor and i was wondering if theres any way to get this off my record because im trying to become a police officer in the future. What should i do?

If you get convicted, you can file a petition later to expunge the misdemeanor. You have to keep your nose clean and comply with the terms of probation. Even if you get it expunged, however, it will be found when you apply to become a police officer, because the California Department of Justice keeps records.
