Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
repay bail bond
I posted bail for someone. Thinking they would repay the amount. Now they are saying they won't pay me back because they were not the one who called me for the money. My son called me and asked me if I could help his friend out and post bail for his friend. Can I legally make this person repay the money I paid to post their bail.

Re: repay bail bond
No. Spending money on someone does not legally obligate that person to pay you back. There is no law that makes this rule inapplicable to bail bonds.
