Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Can I request another court date for a different option to jail?

Yesterday I was sentences by the judge to 14 days in county jail for failing to fully complete my community service hours.

I had originally requested more time in December, which was during my time in an outpatient treatment program.

The original charge was resisting arrest.

I tried, and failed, to explain that I have been battling both bipolar disorder and alcoholism by going to therapy and AA sessions. I also work full time and am a part time student.

Is there a way for me to ask for leniency and completing my time in home detention?

Sorry, it sounds like you used up all your chances. I don't think you are going to reverse this decision.

Please be assured that the county jail will be able to treat your various medical conditions. Depending on the county you could be released in as little as one day. Best of luck.
