Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Requesting changes in Probation

My boyfriend has been given 3 years formal probation on a misdemeanor charge. Prior to his incarceration we planned to move to Northern CA. While he was in jail I rented a place and moved all our things to the new place (400 miles from where we were before). My boyfriend got out of jail and now his probation officer will NOT allow him to change his probation to another county. They are using the county he was arrested in and where his parents live. He cannot live with his parents.

We thought that we should go before the judge and submit a request to change counties for the probation. We plan to have a letter from someone willing to give my boyfriend a job up north, a copy of the lease, letters from myself (girlfriend), his mother and father saying that my boyfriend needs to be out of the area due to bad influences.

Is this the route we should take or do you have any suggestions? The Probation Officer has already said NO.

Sounds like you have nothing to lose, go for it. Go to the clerk's office any day at 830 am sharp and ask to have your case put up.
