Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Am I required to meet with a detective?

A detective has threatened me that if I do not talk with him he will issue a warrant for my arrest.I asked what would I be arrested for,he responded that he would not tell me over the phone.I know that he wants me to become an informant and is threatening me to do so.What can I do to protect myself? I have done nothing illegal. Also, I have a brain disorder and stress aggrivates it,so all this is making me extremely ill. What should I do?

Re: Am I required to meet with a detective?

You should retain an attorney, or go to the public defender's office and request that an attorney represent you. Do not talk to the police. The purpose in talking with you is to get information to either charge you with a crime or pressure you into becoming an informant.
