Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

response

I do not know if she ever did any work on me I started talking to her back in Sep.08 when me and my boyfriend where having problems. After I sent her money for her fee a few week or so she said that she would need me to send $700 for a protection and something else and I would get it back. Then a month or so after that she told me that there was an evil spirit that doesn't want me to be happy and told me to put $2800 in a shoe boxs.I was not able to come up with it all so then she told me to send what I had and she would have people from the church donate the rest and after the spirt was gone she would send all my money back. The end of Oct.08 early Nov.08 she said she was sending me all my money and asked me for my social. Week went by and I did not receive anything so I called her. I had told her I got in a car accident and she said she knew something was going to happen thats why she couldn't send the money. I kept telling her I really needed it I was behind on bill and she was telling me we need to finish this and she needed another $800 which I did not send. She was even telling me to borrow from people. In Dec.08 I told her I just want my money back she told me call her in 4 weeks and she never would answer and still won't

[For the benefit of other users, this question is a follow-up to another the user posted earlier today. That question -- and the answer which the user took much too seriously -- is at www.lawguru.com/cgi/bbs/message.php?i=839385842.]

You have been taken. This should not come as a surprise. Anyone who says she can protect you from evil spirits if you give her thousands of dollars is clearly just trying to separate you from your money.

If you know where this woman lives, or at least know her bank account information, you can report her to the authorities. It is possible, though unlikely, that they will be able to help you get some of your money back and/or that she will be prosecuted. Expect to hear more than a few snickers along the way. You should be used to it by now, though; the woman you gave all that money to has been laughing at you from the get-go.
