Rights as Citizen after completing deferred entry of judgement
I will be completing my deferred entry of judgement in Dec/04 for possesion of a controlled substance(charged with a felony). When the charges are dismissed in accordance with PC1000, will my rights and privilages as a citizen be fully restored (ie voting rights, the ability to possess a firearm, the ability to testify in court)?

Penal Code section 1000.1 provides that the guilty plea shall not constitute a conviction for any purpose unlessthe court enters judgement pursuant to the provisons of the defered entry of judgment sections. Thus upon the completion of the deferred judgment program and the dismissal of the charges you are not convicted of any thing for any purpose.
