what do you think they would give someone who was facing multiple robery charges..?

The question is too general. The answer depends on alot of facts, e.g. whether these were seperate prior convictions or there are 3 counts, the extent and kind of force used, special allegations and circumstances etc. California has the 3 strike law, for a 3rd felony conviction following 2 priors which is 25 to life
