Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I have a scenerio I would like to have answered, if a person is in a relationship with someone and allows their significant other to take private photos of them and say the relationship ends badly and the person uses the photos and posts them to a website or blog site without the that person's consent or even threatens to do so, is that illegal and what action should the person take?

At the very least, that person should have a claim for invasion of privacy. If the person taking the photos threatens to post them on the internet in exchange for money or some other benefit, then that person could be prosecuted for extortion.
