Sealing a misdemeanor
How long does a misdemeanor stay on a person's record in the state of California and can it be sealed?

Re: Sealing a misdemeanor
It may last for life, or the life of the record-keeping system being used. Sealing is only available for a juvenile crime. Expungement is available for most misdemeanors after the probation or jail sentence is served.
