Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Selling other property without consent

I let a friend borrow my truck because he wanted to take over payments. He hasn't returned it for months and I can't find him, and I am still making the payments. Now I findd out from his mom that he has sold the truck to someone else. I contacted the man who now has the truck and he refuses to give me the truck unless he gets his money back. I have told him that I will report it stolen and he has threatened me and my family saying that I will have BIG problems if I do report it stolen. I am afraid of him because I have heard from my so called friend's mom that this man is really a drug dealer and not a man I should get involved in. What can I do?

Re: Selling other property without consent

You can report the truck as stolen, and sue your friend for ''conversion'' (the civil equivalent of grand theft). Good Luck.
