serving a term 3 years or less in prison
is it true that if you are serving a term that is three years or less in prison you can go back to the county that you came from?

As far as I know, you go back to the county from which you resided or from which you were committed, no matter how long the commitment, and regardless of how much the people in your home county would prefer to be rid of you.
