Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

can i as a sex offender hang out with someone ten yers younger then me

i am friends with someone ten years younger then me and we have not had sex. i am now being investigated and the police are saying that whether we are having sex or not it is illegal for me to hang out and be friends with a person under 14 or 10 yrs younger. i am not on probation or parole and i have never heard of that. is there any law???

I am not familar with such a law however, being in the company of a "friend" under 14 is asking for a one way ticket to prison. The probability is that if you continue this relationship you will be back in prison. I would think that staying out of prison would be more important than being around a teenage girl.
