Having Sex with a 18-year-old

My friend (31) has a girlfriend who is just 18 years old. They had sex couple days ago and my friend just realized that the girl was only 18 years and 4 months old (The time when they had sex). Is this going to be considered ''statotary ..(not exact word)'' rape? My friend is confused with the age 18 or 21 to be considered as under age. They both live in California.

Under California law, consensual sex with 18 year-olds is considered Good Clean Fun.
