Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

If I was sexually assaulted by the person I was living with and had no way of escaping the situation so I stole the money out of his wallet so I could have a safe place to stay, what charges can be filed against me?

You can be charged with larceny or theft. However, if you were sexually assaulted you should contact the police and a criminal law attorney immediately.

I agree with Mr. Wheeler. However if you took the wallet out of his pants pocket while he was wearing the pants you could be charged with robbery.
