Shoplifting Question

If the police pull me over for no reason than to question me about being seen on video at a major retail store looking around suspiciously at an item and later on that item packaging was found empty but they do not have it on video that i took it can they press charges. The police officer did not arrest me, or ticket me.

Yes you can be charged. Hire Counsel. Video is not a pre-requisite to charging, nor does it stop a filing on you merely because the officer falsely represented you were on the video. Does this mean the video does not exist? The video shoes you there but not a taking? Or the video is inconclusive? Of course if the video is actually exculpatory...you may then be off the hook. All good areas for you to discuss with Counsel.
