Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
spouse charged with felonies
My spouse is charged with several felonies to do with sex crimes with my 25 yr old daughter when she was a minor. The DA's office left a message on my phone yesterday afternoon asking me to call them. Do I have to talk to them about his case if I don't want to? Do I need a attorney?

Re: spouse charged with felonies
It really depends on why they want to talk to you. I would highly recommend that your husband gets an attorney for his own benefit. The DA's office may want to talk to you to see if you know anything. This may not be a good thing because if you tell them that you knew what was going on, they may want to charge you as an accessory or child endangerment. These are very serious charges. You as a spouse have rights and they need to be protected as well. Please contact my office at 310/277-1707.
