Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I started an LLP.My partner was paying the bills due to the economy.He let the liability laps.And put the company in to default.Disappeared with all the furniture and company log and share certificates.I was the resident agent,was going to transfer to him.Until he disappeared.Can I surrender the company?Due to his speedy get away,he cant be found.There was no profits made,just started in march this year.We were primarily research and archival.

These are always difficult situations and heavily dependent on the facts and circumstances (not to mention the LLP agreement). In some circumstances it's fairly easy to dissolve the LLP and/or relinquish any ownership interest in the company It's probably best to contact an attorney to discuss your options since there are potential liability issues.
