Without seeing the police report it is hard to give a definitive answer but it seems to me that when the officer went to your laundry area he violated your right to privacy by entering the curtilage of your residence without a search warrant. You need to have a face to face with a criminal defense attorney to go over this more thoroughly.
You need an attorney to evaluate this case and determine whether a motion to suppress should be filed.
