Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
State or Federal Law?
Good afternoon. My question is this, someone i know has used my credit card while i was deployed to Iraq. He charged over $1500 on it. His name is not on the account, nor did he have a power of attorney to use the credit card. I am thinking about filing charges but i dont know if credit card fraud is a state or federal crime?
Thank you.

While credit card fraud can often be charged as a federal crime as well as a state crime. your best option is to call your local police and let them sort it out.
