Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Statue Of Limitation
I have a question currently i have a friend who is seeking information about this, he has no computer but he asked to find information online...
Let say that 2 years ago he was accused of inaproprietly touching 3 girls (their breast)under the age of 18 and 1 under 14.
no criminal charges were filled or even sought, after some talking it was discovered that it did not happen.
But he now feels guilty of maybe trying to touch one of them inaproprietly... he has talked to that person know and her parents about it and apologize for any wrong doing and putting their daughter in that kind of unconfortable situation...they have accepted the apology.
What he is worried about is them pressing charges now...he has put this behind him and feels much better that he has confessed to what could have potentiolly been a serious problem.
What is the limitations here? are their any? or is he just going to have to face the charges if they decide that pressing charges is what they want to do?

Re: Statue Of Limitation
Your friend should keep his mouth shut. He could be convicting himself by talking. If he feels the need to confess then he should talk to his minister. If he does not have a minister then he should find one. If nothing has been done by the police at this time they may not be planning on going further. However, his talking could change that.
