When does the statue of limitations start, once a crime has been committed, and when the statute runs out, can they prosecute you.

I agree with Mr. Shapiro. Some crimes have a statute of limitations that begins to run when the crime is committed, and others based on other events, such as discovery. Other crimes do not have a statute of limitations at all. It depends on what is being charged and the underlying facts.
