Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Statute of limitations for misdemeanors
What is the statute of limitations in California for PC 653m and 646 (both misdemeanors)? In both instances, an arrest was not made. Does the statute run from the date of the criminal complaint or from some other date subsequent to the filing of the police report?
Thanks.

Re: Statute of limitations for misdemeanors
Arrests do not have to be made. You should make sure that they weren't filed. If not, you should have received notice that they weren't going to file. If they have been, you may have a warrant, which doesn't have a statute and will remain a warrant until it is recalled. Please contact my office at 310/277-1707.
