Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
statutory rape
can i being charged and prosecuted for having sex with a 16 year old girl who is actually only a friend of mine ''i'm a 23 year old male'' by child protection services when really nothing has ever happen between us? both if us would swear to that fact because i have never touched her. she has a 14 sister who made this statement out of spite because of a prior unrelated incident that occurred between them. i'm scared that i will get in trouble for something that i did not do. what should i do?

Re: statutory rape
Just keep telling the truth.
She's a little young for you. However, it's always a problem as the girl approaches 18. She's normally going to be dating guys a little older than her. Just stay in her good graces. I also would not try and get back at the sister somehow. You'll end up with the whole family charging you with rape of a minor.
