I'm not sure what you're asking.
If you're asking about discovery in a criminal case, that's covered by Penal Code section 1054. The prosecution must turn over evidence 30 days before trial. Recent case law indicates that they must turn over the discovery pre-preliminary hearing that they intend to use and/or is requested by the defense, particularly when it involves the running of certain motions at prelim.
